Places to visit

Trou Aux Biches:

This place is famous for its clear and pristine beaches with sparkling sands on the shores and offers various water activities like swimming, snorkeling, bike riding on the beaches etc. There are plenty of stalls, cafes, shacks, and restaurants on the coast which offers local cuisine and excellent street food which is an ideal destination for food lovers.

Belle Mare Plage:

Watching the sunrise in this spectacular beach in the wee hours of the morning and taking a dip in the blue waters of the sea during dawn is one of the best experiences in Mauritius. This beach also offers splendid water activities like windsurfing, snorkeling, swimming etc.

Pereybere:

This sea beach is comparatively much deeper than other beaches in Mauritius and offer excellent opportunities for deep sea diving for professional divers and also swimming and snorkeling for the tourists. Since the water is calm here, water activities are not risky.

Le Morne:

Surrounded by the Le Morne Mountains, the Le Morne beach is one of the most visited beaches of Mauritius especially for tourists who enjoy water activities. Several water activities like windsurfing, kiteboarding, snorkeling take place in the blue water of the beaches.

Casela World of Adventures:

This Natural Park at Cascavelle offers the best and deadliest jungle safari in open jeeps and also elephant riding. If you are brave enough to go for any of the rides, you can spot tigers, leopards, foxes, zebras and many other animals taking a stroll in the jungle and some may end up coming near your jeep.

Trou Aux Cerfs:

This 650-meter high sleeping volcano located in Curepipe offers adventurous activities like jogging and jeep tours around the lake present in the crater of the volcano which is 80 m deep and 350 mm broad. Although the volcano is dormant, can erupt anytime which makes it one of the deadliest and most mysterious places of the region.

Tamarind Waterfalls

: One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Mauritius, it comprises of a combination of seven cataracts which are situated on river Tamarin as a result of which, the waterfall is also known as the Seven Cascades. This waterfall also offers a lot of activities like cliff jumping, hiking, canyoneering, bird-watching, and swimming.

Sugar Museum:

Sugar museum is one of the best places to visit in Mauritius. This museum displays the 250 years old struggle of the sugar industry and speaks of the era when sugar was as valuable as gold. Spending an hour or two in this sugar museum and tasting sugar will be a different experience altogether.

Best Time to Visit Mauritius:

Although the place can be visited at any time of the year, the best time to visit is from December to May when the weather is cool and sunny.
